ABOUT GENERATOR PARIS

Standing opposite Oscar Niemeyer’s iconic French Communist Headquarters, Generator Paris is just a few steps from Canal Saint-Martin and Buttes-Chaumont Park and only a 15-minute stroll from Gare du Nord train station. With a welcoming mix of cinematic design, rich colours, a sparkling reception and several unique social spaces to suit your mood, you’ll feel like you’re on the set of a Parisian art-house movie.
On the hostel’s ground floor you’ll find Café Fabien with its canteen and conservatory overlooking the garden. NUTS AND BOLTS OF THE JOB
-To provide assistance to the Head Chef/Sous Chef to help ensure the smooth running of foodservice operations
-To create high quality food to meet guest expectations and to maintain company standards
-To anticipate guests’ needs and provide service to the level they require
-Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes within your speciality
-Managing and training any commis working with you
-Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
-Give input to the Head Chef on menu creativity with the courage to try something different and deliver innovative, locally inspired food & beverage offerings appropriate to the guest community
-Keep up to date with local food trends
-Carry out all preparatory tasks ensuring good quality produce at all times
-To constantly improve product knowledge to maximize revenue and service provided
-Know all statutory legislation and ensure H&S and Fire Safety compliance
-Ensuring you and your team have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety

-Experience working within the food industry in a similar role
-A genuine interest and enthusiasm for food and service
-A passion for trending Food concepts locally and elsewhere
-Understand the food business and be passionate about maximising revenue
