Ski Lift Attendant, Ski Concierge And Front Desk Representative Needed In Canadian Ski Resorts Through BUNAC

Start/end dates: late November 2017/early December 2017 – March 2018

About the company: Panorama is located on British Columbia's Powder Highway, at the heart of some of North America's best skiing. From the Calgary International Airport (YYC, Calgary), drive 3.5 hours along one of the world's great mountain highways, through Banff and Kootenay National Parks. Panorama is two short hours from Banff, Alberta, and only 90 minutes from the Canadian Rockies Airport in Cranbrook, British Columbia. All around, as far as the eye can see, are snow smothered peaks including the world-famous Rocky Mountains.

Preferred qualifications and skills:

Previous experience in hospitality is desired but not essential

Excellent communication and customer service skills

A fun, enthusiastic and positive attitude

In this role, you will:

Actively direct the proper and efficient loading of guests of all ability levels. This is accomplished through constant communication, awareness and decision making.

Monitor and assist the safe, proper and efficient unloading of all guests.

Loading of mountain bikes upwards of 60 lbs. recommending the proper trails per ability of rider.

   Execute the daily pre-operational inspection of lift machinery in order to accurately complete a legal lift-log document. Any irregularities are reported to lift maintenance and the log is then filed for future reference in the event of legal matters.

Foster excellent guests relations through positive interactions with guests each time they load to ensure their return visit.

Knowledgably and efficiently administer emergency procedures such as lift breakdown, evacuation, fire, avalanche and accident reporting.

Role responsibilities: As a ski concierge at the Four Seasons Resort in Whistler, you would be responsible for assisting the guests in their mountain activities and equipment and providing consistent high-quality service.

Preferred skills and qualifications:

Previous experience in hospitality is desired but not essential

Excellent communication skills

Strong commitment to service

In this role you will:

Work outdoors from late November through the beginning of April

Provide information regarding services available at Four Seasons, including directions and open hours

  Guide the guests to services outside the resort, including detailed understanding of Whistler Blackcomb Mountain and how it works

  Provide safe and proper operation of all ski shop equipment

Ensure safety procedures are followed and report all Guest injuries and actions taken to Ski Concierge Manager and the Security department immediately

  Handle lost and found items

Respond properly in a resort emergency or safety situation

Display a high level of professionalism and integrity at all times

Keep the Ski Concierge and Front Office Manager informed of guest problems or complaints

Perform other tasks as assigned by Base Camp or Resort Management Staff

Role responsibilities: Front desk representatives are the first point of contact for our lodging guests and the check in experience often sets the tone for a guest's stay. It is the vision of the front desk and the entire resort to create the best memories for our guests by continually exceeding their expectations. The Front office also acts as the hub of information for the resort, servicing both internal and external requests knowledgably and efficiently. The Front Office provides employees with a fast paced, professional and service orientated environment.

Preferred qualifications and skills:

  Ability to deliver exceptional customer service skills

Strong organisational skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Two years Front Desk/Office or related experience or College Diploma/University Degree

Experience handling money

  Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge required

Team orientated with an energetic, friendly, cheerful and animated demeanor

Available to work weekends, evenings and holidays (8 hour shifts)

In this role, you will:

Provide professional and personalised interaction with guests throughout the check-in/check-out process

Take ownership of the guest's entire stay at Blue Mountain

Act as a main point of information for resort guests and internal customers

  Handle guest and internal resort enquiries

Accept payment from guests

Answer phones in a professional and friendly manner

General administrative duties

Mail out guest receipts
