More and more exchange students and tourists are being drawn to the picturesque city on the Atlantic, and more clubs and bars are following suit. But it’s not just students and locals who make the nightspots a popular weekend destination: if you’re working in Porto, you won’t want to miss out on a night out. The Industría, an underground club right by the sea, is a must for anyone who likes electronic music or techno. If you take a taxi or Uber, you’ll even get some of your money back in the form of drinks! For a smoke outside, the beach and the sea are right at your feet and offer you a great place to cool down when you’re too sweaty from dancing.
You can also work up a sweat at the Mauritania Summer Club, about fifteen minutes away by car. Here you can expect luxury partying at its best, so it’s best to sign up for the guest list in advance and then enjoy the whole evening with cocktails and refreshments. You can save on your journey by sharing an Uber with several people from Porto. This club is the perfect place to party with a large group of friends anyway.
The Club84, right in the centre of Porto, offers a cosy and inviting ambience. This nightclub is particularly popular with students, who throw weekly parties here. So if you like to mingle with young people and maybe even like-minded exchange students, this is the place for you. Another advantage is, of course, that it is easy to get to from the city.
A popular address, especially in the LGBT+ community, is the Zoom, in the east of Porto. Various events and themed parties take place here regularly, with the audience being fired up with gogo dancers and the latest pop music. This club is definitely perfect for excessive nights and wild parties.
The Atlantic Club nightclub on the coast is more popular with locals, as it is not easily accessible from the city and is about half an hour’s drive from Porto. However, the atmosphere here has been rated as particularly endearing and the staff as mostly friendly. ‘Ladies Nights’ are also held here regularly, with special offers for the girls among you!
