Neilson Active Holidays Are Now Taking Applications For The Winter Season 2016/17

There's nothing quite like a winter season. If you've got the stamina, flexibility and personality, you'll have the time of your life. Days are long and full-on, but as well as working hard with some like minded people who you'll soon call friends, you'll have lots of opportunity to play hard too!

Resort/Chalet Hosts

As a Resort Host, you will be an ambassador for Neilson, representing the face of the company in resort. This is an exciting and varied role, providing and supporting the different elements that make up our guest’s Neilson experience in resort. Your responsibilities will include providing exceptional customer service in line with company standards and procedures, and ensuring that the catering and hospitality services in our chalets are met to the expected high standards. Depending on where your individual strengths lie, these different elements will be covered to a greater or lesser degree. However, you will be expected to provide hands on support in every area when required. 

Ski Reps

As a Neilson Ski Rep you'll be the face of the company, always on hand to help, be able to stay calm under pressure and still keep smiling. Your day will be structured around visits every evening and most mornings to wherever you have the most guest contact - a hotel, chalet, ski school meeting place or mountain restaurant. You'll plan and promote a nightly apres ski programme, answer questions from guests and accompany them skiing several times a week. As well as contact with guests, there's a lot of back office duties to do including accounts paperwork, preparing arrival and departure details and making welcome packs. Unexpected medical emergencies are also common place. The sheer variety and unpredictability of the job calls for some very special qualities.

Hotel Staff

We recruit for a range of jobs at our well established Neilson hotel at the foot of the slopes in Les Deux Alpes, France. We run the hotel ourselves and everyone who works there is recruited by us in the UK. If you have previous hospitality and customer service experience, a hard work mentality, great communication skills and love working in a team, we'd love to hear from you. The majority of shifts will be split shifts, working hours in the morning and then in the afternoon/evening. All departments in our hotel overlap and work as one overall team. Ski season hotel work involves long hours and a flexible attitude and what you will take away from it will stand you in good stead for future employment opportunities.

Office Staff

We have an office team in each of our European county destinations. These overseas office teams are the hub of our winter operation and they vary in size from the largest being a team of 7 and the smallest a team of 2. Whether your background is in general administration or you have some additional financial skills, these positions are a great opportunity for people to develop in a tour operations career. We are particularly interested in people with French, German and Italian language skills.

Children's Club

Family holidays are always special and we aim for our youngest guests to have an action packed time with us. Whether you are a level 3 qualified practitioner or have loads of experience working with children of different ages, you could join our great winter team. Based at our hotel in Les Deux Alpes, we have three clubs; snow angels for 4 - 23 months, snowman for 2 - 4 years and snow buster for 5 - 12 years and depending on who we have booked in that week you could find yourself working in either of these. You will be involved in organising and supervising a varied and interesting timetable of activities, both indoor and out in the snow during the day and a babysitting service is offered on certain evenings.

Management Roles

Most of our managers have been recruited from within the company. We have former chalet hosts who now manage our hotels and windsurf instructors who are the operational and commercial masterminds developing our biggest products. It takes a certain type of person to become a manager. We understand that not everyone can or wants to manage people and a product, but if you're one of those special people who thrives on pressure and wants to pursue a challenging and rewarding career then we have some great programmes in place that will encourage and help you to develop your skills into becoming a successful manager.
