The Dicks Tea Bar Group In Val d'Isère, Méribel Chamonix, Alpe d’Huez, Val Thorens, Tignes and Les Deux Alpes Are Recruiting Staff Throughout The Alps For The 2008/09 Winter Ski Season

We are an independent company operating 10 bars in the following resorts in the French Alps, Meribel, Val D’Isere, Alpe d’Huez, Val Thorens, Les Deux Alpes and Tignes. We aim to create a pleasant and lively atmosphere in each of our popular venues by recruiting positive, outgoing and enthusiastic individuals who are motivated to provide the best customer care and service possible, by performing to the best of their ability in their chosen position. We expect a great deal from our staff but can offer great opportunities in return, our staff come back to us time and time again.

Bar/Restaurant Managers: For this role you must be a highly motivated and dedicated individual able to manage people and the business to a high standard. With target based bonuses you will be required to drive the business to its’ hopefully best ever season. You will need fluent French and a good background in management, within a resort of this nature is preferable. If bars and restaurants are your thing then hopefully this position will offer the challenges you are looking for.

Offering an interesting package + bonuses (possibly year round), with/without accommodation.

Head Waiters/esses and Head Bar Staff: Want to make more of your season? If you have a solid background in bar work, preferably within a ski resort and feel that you can positively impact the running of a business with your supervisory skills and ability to support the management team then this could be a position for you. This busy environment requires someone able to lead from the front an example to all in customer service and able to run a tight ship on their watch. You must have a competent level of French.

A very competitive salary package with bonuses and accommodation (optional) in resort is provided.

Musicians: We are searching for the next big thing in the Alps! Après Ski and evenings, small and large venues, we need big bands, duos, and solo artists with a sparkle!
You would be self employed and paid a competitive rate per gig.

Chefs and Head Chefs: We have very busy à la Carte restaurants with innovative and exciting menus and a pizza kitchen open until late. Chefs of all standards needed to work in these busy and challenging businesses.The kitchens are open during the day times and so skiing time may be limited.

Salary naturally goes from basic to very interesting! All positions are with or without accommodation.

Bar staff: With whom the party begins! Being highly enthusiastic and motivated to provide incredible customer service and a friendly face to all, you will need very competent or fluent French, plenty of bar experience and a confident and outgoing disposition.

With a continuously busy bar, you would be able to work well under pressure with a positive attitude towards staff and customers alike, maintaining high service standards at all times. This role also includes table service and some food service. Cocktail bar staff will be considered first. Shifts vary in length and there will be some in the daytime.

Waiters and waitresses: You must have fluent or very competent French and experience in working within busy à la Carte restaurants for this position. You will be motivated to provide high quality and friendly service both during the daytime and the evening in our very popular and busy restaurant. You must be able to work well under pressure keeping a cool head and thinking on your feet.

A basic salary, accommodation (optional) and meals are provided.

Administrators: This role may best suit a ‘seasoned’ seasonaire, a responsible position taking charge of cashing up banking, supplier relations, logging bills etc. You need to have attention to detail, good numeracy skills and fluency in French is essential. You will be required to work early mornings but the potentially long hours are flexible allowing for skiing time.

Salary negotiable and accommodation (optional), meals etc are provided.

Cleaners: This is an important position as it can be the deciding factor for a client to enter or not! We expect an eye for detail and ability to work on your own initiative, as you will be trusted to ‘get the job done’ yourself. You must be punctual; there will be early mornings and/or late nights as the aim is to have the premises impeccable and ready for opening on time. You must be physically fit as the work entails a certain amount of lifting and snow clearing.

Kitchen Porters: For this role you will be required to work cleanly, quickly and efficiently. You will be working under pressure helping to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen. Your duties will include helping with food preparation, general cleaning duties and the dishes. You will be required to work some daytime shifts.

Floor Staff: As always a cheerful and personable disposition, ability to work under pressure, some French would be helpful. Responsibilities include keeping the bar clean and tidy during opening times so a keen eye for detail and ability to work on initiative. You would be responsible for keeping the bar stocked up and running smoothly during service.

Door Staff: You should be personable, polite and tactful. Your role as doorman is as much welcoming guests into the bar as helping to control crowds as well. A reasonable level of French is required. Responsible for the ‘look’ of the bar from the outside you must be presentable and ready to deal with any situation that may arise. Previous experience is not essential but preferable. You will be required to work mainly nights although be expected to jump in and help out on the floor should need be (see above role).
